WHITE SAUCE PIZZA
Serendipity Bread Pizza Dough - The great thing about this recipe is you can use it for almost any bread item: rolls, pizza dough, and it makes especially delicious flat bread! DIRECTIONS: Follow recipe for bread machine pizza dough at the link. Make and roll out 1/2 yield of dough to fit pizza platter making it thin or thick as you desire. Sprinkle with salt. Press in 1 clove of garlic (very finely chopped) into the dough all the way around. Make sauce and chop vegetables. Add ingredients as follows:
WHITE SAUCE:
2 garlic cloves chopped fine
1/4 shallot chopped fine
1/2 stick butter
1 tbsp flour
1/4 cup half & half or milk
1 tsp dried chives
1 tsp dried parsley
Salt, pepper & garlic granules (not salt) to taste
Melt butter over medium heat and add shallots and garlic. Simmer until cooked through (about 2-3 minutes). Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir for about 1 minute to cook the flour. Add herbs, salt, pepper and garlic granules and mix well. Slowly add milk to the pan stirring constantly until desired consistency. Slow adding of flour and constant stirring are essential to smooth sauce. Should be thick but still runny. Spread about 1/4 cup on top of dough evenly. Add toppings leaving the cheese for last. Bake in a 425* oven for 12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Cut into 8 pieces. Enjoy!
TOPPINGS:
2 tomato, Roma Tomatoes
0.50 cup, Black Olives Sliced
0.50 container (240.00 g), Artichoke Hearts canned
0.50 cup, whole, Mushrooms (optional)
2 oz of cooked chicken breast (cubed or shredded)
